Dr Nils Meyer-Ohlendorf

Senior Fellow, Ecologic Institute, Berlin

Dr Nils Meyer-Ohlendorf is a Senior Fellow at Ecologic Institute and Head of its International and European Governance Program. With a background in international and European law, his work focuses on climate change and governance. Since 2003, when he joined the Ecologic Institute, he has led numerous projects on climate change, international governance, EU reform, trade, investment protection and tax reform. He is also co-founder of Democracy Reporting International (DRI), a Berlin-based NGO promoting democratic governance world-wide.
Nils previously worked at the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU, Unit "EU Co-ordination"). He was legal and election advisor to various election observation missions of the European Union and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). He was also an attorney at Beiten und Burckhardt, an international corporate law firm. Nils completed his legal clerkship at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi (Kenya).
