Secretary General, Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment
Mark Griffin took up his role as Secretary General of the then Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources in September 2013. He is responsible for, inter alia, shaping and implementing Government energy, communications and broadcasting policy in his role as Secretary General of the Department. Prior to his appointment as Secretary General, Mark served as an Assistant Secretary in the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government for seven years over the water, planning and corporate services areas. He also served as Environment Counsellor in the Department of Foreign Affairs at Ireland’s Permanent Representation to the EU. He is Secretary General of the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment since July 2016. Mark is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin.
